📣 New in Optics: Numbers, Steps & Text Templates for Cards
At Caelor, we’ve always believed that great content starts with great structure — and that teams deserve tools that are as intuitive as they are powerful. That’s what drives us as we continue to evolve Optics, our visual editing toolkit for Confluence Cloud.
Today, we’re excited to introduce three new purpose-driven Card templates:
📊 Numbers
🧭 Steps
✍️ Text
These layouts reflect real-world use cases we’ve seen again and again — and now, they’re built right into Optics.
🏆 Why we did this
Optics has been pioneering the content formatting space in Confluence Cloud for several years. Our commitment to simple, powerful visual tools earned us Atlassian’s App Innovator Award — but more importantly, it’s earned us the trust of teams worldwide.
Here’s the thing: We’ve been working on a full redesign of Optics for a while. As part of that, we talked to a bunch of customers. And we kept hearing the same feedback:
“We put numbers in them to show KPIs.”
“We use Cards to walk people through processes.”
“We write full chunks of text when we need more detail.”
The old templates technically worked for that. But they looked a little off. Not terrible — just not ideal.
So we created templates that fit.
🔍 What’s New: 3 Smartly Designed Categories
📊 Numbers
Highlight key data in seconds.
Whether it’s KPIs, revenue figures, or team growth, the Numbers layout makes stats shine. These cards are bold, centered, and immediately scannable — perfect for dashboards or company updates.

🧭 Steps
Walk users through a process.
From onboarding checklists to launch prep and project plans, Steps cards create structured flows that make it easy to follow progress, assign tasks, and keep things moving — all with beautiful design baked in.

✍️ Text
More room for detail.
Sometimes your team needs context. The new Text templates are optimized for longer messages, instructions, and info blocks. They keep your formatting clean, readable, and engaging — without visual clutter.

💬 We’d Love Your Feedback
This is part of the bigger redesign we’ve been working on. Three small updates that make Cards way more useful. And no, we’re not here to overcomplicate things. The UI stays simple. You don’t need new skills to use these templates. Just pick what fits best and move on. If you try them and have thoughts — good or bad — we want to hear it. We’re building this with you.
